Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV)

BPPV is an inner ear disorder that causes a spinning or whirling sensation called vertigo. When the head is moved in certain positions vertigo can occur. BPPV is the cause of approximately 20% of all dizziness.

Resources include the Dix-Hallpike Test that determines the cause of vertigo based on the pattern of a patients eye moments and Frenzel Goggles that allow PRO Physical Therapy therapists to carefully observe the eye for subtle signs of nystagmus, involuntary rhythmic shaking or wobbling eyes.

	Canalith Repositioning/Epley Maneuver - The repositioning of the head with timed head maneuvers.   Education - PRO's physical therapists teach patients proper exercise techniques that they can do at home to maintain optimal health.
